JULIA ATKINSON
Julia Atkinson is a seasoned and strategic professional with over 15 years of experience in patient and customer marketing, partnering with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and life sciences organizations to design and optimize direct-to-patient programs. Her expertise spans strategic planning, client relationship management, and product development, supporting both product launches and optimization of existing patient support initiatives. Across therapeutic areas, including immunology, cardiovascular, rare disease, and neurology, she has led cross-functional teams, developed SOPs, designed innovative solutions, and delivered training that elevated the patient experience. Julia is known for building trusted partnerships and driving meaningful outcomes for patients, customers, and businesses.
She began her career in healthcare marketing as a health coach, providing virtual disease awareness and therapy-specific education to patients and caregivers. That frontline foundation fueled her transition into patient adherence program design, content development, training, and strategic consulting. A career highlight includes co-authoring and commercializing a proprietary patient engagement training curriculum.
Julia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Italian from the University of Southern California, grounding her work in both human behavior and cultural insight. Born and raised in San Diego, Julia lives there with her husband, three children, and their labradoodle. Outside of work, she enjoys hosting gatherings, traveling, exploring new cuisines, exercising, and spending time outdoors with her family. She believes the same values that guide her career—connection, empathy, and intentionality—are what make life most fulfilling.
